Gleeson Park 2012
On the 8th of May we walked down the steep hill down to Gleeson Park. We chose a buddy and then walked over to Michelle and listened to what she was going to say. She talked about how to take out the plant and how to plant the plant. Michelle said "If you want to take out the plant out of the pot you just have to squeeze the sides together and then it'll pop out. If you want to plant a plant you dig a hole and then put the plant in. Then cover it with dirt and make sure no roots are showing. You guys can go get a plant and then take your buddy to go and plant it". So we got a plant and found a place to plant it. Squeeze! pop! out came the plant. We put the plant in the hole and then covered it with dirt. After that we went to get another plant.

Water Colours
We have started making paintings with water colours. We learnt how if you want it lighter you use water and if you want it darker you use more paint. We read a story called The Bantam And The Solider and then we painted something that was in the story like the chicken, solider and Bertha. I painted a chicken.

Gleeson Park
Last week Room 3 and Room 1 went to Gleeson Park to plant some trees. When we got to the park we saw some people who were going to help us plant the trees, some of us had brought small hand shovels to dig with. We had to pair up with someone and then the people who were helping us showed us how to plant the trees so they'll grow and don't die. It was hard to dig the right sized hole for the plants because the small shovels were too small. After thirty minutes every one had planted 2-3 plants so we had to walk back up to school.

Gleeson Park gardening
Last Tuesday room three was excited as we strolled down to Gleeson park to plant some plants because the park used to be crammed with weeds. Until Napier Central and Napier City Council decided they would make the park a better place. We got told to get into pairs, obediently me and Lliam partnered up and got started. There were four steps to plant a tree I went and fetched it while Liam dug a hole then I put the plant in the hole then Liam put the soil back in. Me and Liam ended up planting three trees. It was really fun.

Soccer with the Napier City Rovers
On Monday we had soccer with the Napier City Rovers. First we did a warm up game. For the warm up game we dribbled the soccer ball round and then when they said happy feet or toe taps we did ten of them then started dribbling again. Sometimes they would say stop and the last person to stop needed to do 5-10 star jumps.
After that we got split into teams and got numbered. Then when they said your number you would run out and try and get the ball in the opposite goal. That was 1 point if you got it in. But if it went out of bounds they would choose a different number.
It was really fun!
